Horsey

This morning, MM rushed over to me from where she was playing with her Little People (population: seal (1); lion (1); polar bear (1); exotic bird, aka: “Cheep” (1); monkey (1); elephant (1); dinosaur, adult (1); dinosaur, infant + egg (1); Hawaiian travelers (2); cave person (1); airline pilot (1); zoo groundskeeper (1 M.I.A.)) and excitedly said, “Horse! Horse!”

After conducting a mental inventory of the Little People World in my head, I concluded that she must be delusional because we are not currently in possession of the horse (which is part of the $35.50 Farm Set and, thus, well outside our non-birthday toy budget). I asked her “What horse?” and she ran over and pointed at the dinosaurs, saying “Horse, horse!”

She’d put the baby dinosaur on the back of the daddy dinosaur (all big versions of anything default to daddy, usually), and he was being a “horse.”

It always amazes me how her little brain works.

She sounds so imaginative. I love pretend play. It’s fun to watch them, isn’t it?

LOL, come over anytime - we have the farm set, house set and several extra people / animals and an “SUV.” I was warned once that Little People tend to procreate when you’re not looking so I keep wondering when our basement will be overrun by an LP colony. So far, the fake food is winning. :)

Rachel - it’s a terrific age, now. I remember when my neices and nephews were this age, but it’s so much more fun when it’s your own kid pretending that a sock is a teapot and a stick is a fork. :)

Kim - I love the idea of Little People procreation!!! If you’ve ever got time, we should get together - I don’t think we’re too far apart.
