Apparently, Centreville Library did an English/Korean storytime recently:

English/Korean Storytime. Stories, activities and a craft in both languages. Age 3-6 with adult.
I wonder if this is an ongoing activity? Sounds like a cool idea, in theory at least.

Oh my goodness! I wish I had known about this in time, although we’re too young darnit… Centreville is becoming the next Koreatown so I can totally see why they’d offer something like this. (Did you see the coverage in the post about the Korean migration to Centreville and how the current community is pissed about it? How crappy!)
Anyway, do you and MM ever shop at Super H? Could make for a fun lunch outing one day! Or some place like Tysons - maybe split the travel difference?

I did see the article; there was a similar one awhile back about Annandale. The knee-jerk reactions from the ‘longtime’ (read “white,” since so many of the Korean residents have been here for 20 years or more) were discouraging, but another thing that I thought was interesting was the (as it was reported, at least) split w/in the Korean community between people who wanted to maintain fairly culturally isolated lives in the US, and those who wanted to become part of the wider community through things like joining local chambers of commerce, etc. (M.’s a BIG believer in the latter). That’s one thing I like about this kind of activity, if it helps to get conversations going between different communities.
We haven’t been to Super H lately, but we can always make a trip! That could be fun (and I looooove the food at the food court - down Annandale way, it’s either restaurant or nothing, and sometimes you just want a cheap bite of something).
