What keeps me going
This, of course:

But also a lot of this:

For the record, she looks just like her paternal grandmother in this picture.
Also, as a little bit of sunshine, I present you with MM’s latest work of art:
Elmo with horse and cowboy hat

You can’t make up that kind of thing.

Hey, just catching up after a crazy week (more work crazy than anything else). I love the pictures. What a neat family you have.
I’m awed to see the outpouring of love and sympathy that Snickollet is getting. Her story (and her presentation of it) are compelling and heartbreaking. I think your reaction makes a lot of sense, in terms of being able to relate and wanting to be able to respond but feeling presumptious (sp?!!).
Anyway, mostly just saying hello!

Rachel - Thanks! I cracked up when she explained her Elmo still life to me.
OTRgirl - Hey! I’ve been so moved by Snickollet’s story; I don’t want to intrude, you know? But - maybe, as you say, it’s her presentation of it - I can’t stop reading now. Their story is actually giving me a much better perspective on things right now…as much as I hate to say that I’m benefiting from someone else’s grief.
