Happy Anniversary!

To, um, me and M.  I’m into the self-congratulation, apparently.

We celebrated our third wedding anniversary with lunch at Todai, the cheesy Asian buffet chain.  M. had a craving for sushi (but didn’t want to pay $4/piece to have it, and the place we were planning to go didn’t do lunch on Sundays), so we went and ate and ate and ate.  Taste: okay; value for money: M. good, me “not Korean enough.”  Apparently a good Korean is supposed to eat until blood actually begins flowing from your bursting stomach (or, as M. put it, “if you start feeling like you can’t eat any more, you’re getting there”).

After a crap night on Saturday, C. settled back into his decent sleeping pattern last night, so the sleep deprivation-induced homicidal rage that I was fighting back yesterday seems to have abated today.

Some work getting done.  But not as consistently as I’d like.

Toddler is calming down, though.  We’ve had several days in a row where she actually woke up after 6 am.  Not much after, but after is after.

:-) Even the little after means so much!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Oh yes, you eat, eat, eat, until there’s absolutely no way you can put away a single grain of rice.

Glad there’s some sleeping going on in your household! And work… it’ll get to a consistent phase… hey, you just had a baby! You’re already doing more than most!

    Yay!! Happy Anniversary!

Note to self. Mapquest Todai. I love a buffet. I will make my best effort to be Korean.

Oh, I’m ALL about the little after!! She actually woke up at about 5:40 this morning, but obligingly went back to bed for a half hour when I asked her to - !! It was an exciting moment for all. ;)

Yes, apparently the eating until you explode thing is key here. I’ve always been impressed with the amount of food M.’s parents are able to put away in one sitting. I’m the weak link in our chain - I stop when I’m full.

You don’t even need to mapquest it - it’s located inside Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax. Right off 66, if you’ve never been there - I mean, it has it’s own exit, pretty much, that leads right into the mall. As buffets go, it’s not bad at all (with an extensive dessert selection, too - including Green Tea and Anko ice cream!), and they’re really practically giving the sushi away. There’s another good one down in Alexandria, right off of…395? I think? It’s called Hee-been (http://www.heebeen.com/), and they also have all-you-can-eat sushi, if I remember correctly.

Apparently, at buffets at least, “Korean” is a state of mind. Or body.

    Happy Anniversary!!!

And I totally know what you mean about Todai. We go and have a decent meal, but it’s totally not “real Korean” flavor there. Hubby makes the most of the sushi section and I graze all over… but I’m much more satisfied by the Korean - Korean buffets in Annandale (although that’s a trek for us). On the other hand, Em is mesmerized by the yellow mascot guy and their kiddie drink cups. *sigh*
